  1. Prepare recipe the day BEFORE baking.
  2. Pour boiling water over all bran & let stand. In very large bowl (or possibly bath tub), cream butter, sugars & Large eggs. Add in buttermilk & then bran mix. Mix well. Premix flour, b/soda & salt & add in to above mix. Mix well. Add in bran flakes & mix in till just combined. Add in raisins or possibly dates. Refrigerate1 day before baking. Spoon into pans & bake at 375F for 15-20 mins.
