Onde - onde is Malaysian traditional kuih.Kuih means is equilvalent of deserts,cakes and pastries.There are two types of onde - onde ,which use glutinous rice or sweet potato as skin. This little onde- onde are infused with Pandan/Screw pine juice ,stuffed with Gula Melaka and rolled on fresh grated coconut.The Palm Sugar in this tasty bites will melt in your mouth once you take a bite. Hope whoever tried this little bites enjoy it.I bought 400 g glutinous rice flour packet and i use half of it and I got around 18- 20 balls.

Directions

  1. Combine glutinous rice ,pandan juice in a mixing bowl and knead well to form smooth dough.
  2. Cover the dough and set aside for 8- 10 minutes.
  3. Now make small balls and flatten lighty.Fill the center of dough with chopped palm sugar.Then roll back into nice smooth ball.
  4. Cook the balls in boilling water.Once the rice balls float ,remove them with spoon and discard the excess water.
  5. Roll the little balls in salted grated coconut and serve. Enjoy.
