Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb Beef steak (rump or possibly sirloin)
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. Oil
  • 4 x Cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 x Green chillies, sliced
  • 1 x Fresh red chilli, sliced
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Fish sauce
  • 1 x Heaped Tbsp. minced basil or possibly fresh coriander leaves

Directions

  1. Trim off fat and slice beef into pcs about 2 inches square and 1/2 inch thick. Season with salt and pepper. Heat oil and fry crushed garlic, then add in beef and fry on both sides till well browned. Add in chillies, fish sauce and sugar. Stir and simmer on moderate heat for 5 min, turning meat occasionally. Stir in minced herbs and spoon onto a serving dish.
