Ingredients
- 2 packages. dry yeast (not rapid rise)
- 2 c. hot water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. soft butter
Directions
- Dissolve yeast in water. Add in sugar and half of the flour. Beat thoroughly 2 min. Add in egg and shortening. Gradually beat in remaining flour till smooth. Cover with a damp cloth, place in refrigerator. Punch down occasionally as dough rises. Dough will be good for several days.When you are ready to make the rolls, take dough out and shape. Place on a greased pan. Let dough rise covered in a warm place for about 2 hrs. Bake 12-15 min at 400 degrees.
