Ingredients
- 4 c. All purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 2Â 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Allspice
- 2 tsp Nutmeg
- 2 tsp Grnd cloves
- 4 x Large eggs (3 if very large)
- 2 c. Sugar
- 1Â 1/2 c. Vegetable oil
- 1 c. Minced pecans (optional)
- 8 c. Finely minced apples (I use granny smith or possibly roma apples)
- 3 Tbsp. Vanilla
Directions
- This recipe was given to me by my husbands grandmother and it is so good!!
- Sift together all the dry ingredients. In seperate bowl blend the Large eggs, sugar, vanilla and oil. Add in the sifted dry ingredients to the egg mix.
- The batter will be very stiff. Stir in the nuts and apples. Pour into a greased and lightly floured loaf pan and bake for 1-1/2 hrs in a 325 degree oven. Let the cake cold before removing it from the pan. Cover cake to keep moist.
