Baked this cake for the family, topped with peanut butter buttercream icing...oh my goodness! This is the best white cake that I have ever tasted, my family had the same opinion. They have asked for this one again as a layer cake with filling. I made it in a 9 x 13 pan as I didn't have an 11 x 13. The cake is dense, moist...delicious. I used two teaspoons of vanilla instead of the almond, but plan to make it with the almond flavor and use a maraschino cherry buttercream...yum!! Also, it took a lot longer than the stated time to bake.
