Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Packed brown dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. Butter, (1 stick)
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 c. Cornstarch
  • 2 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and salt over Medium heat. Cook 3-4 min or possibly till butter melts and sugar begins to caramelize, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. In a medium bowl, whisk cornstarch and lowfat milk then whisk into the brown sugar mix. Cook over Medium heat 5-6 min, or possibly till mix has thickened, whisking constantly. Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla. Pour into a serving bowl or possibly individual serving dishes and refrigerate2 to 3 hrs or possibly till set. Note I llike to serve this topped with some minced chocolate-covered toffee bars.
