Ingredients
- 10 x Egg whites
- 7 x Egg yolks
- 1 tsp Cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1Â 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1 c. Cake flour
- 1Â 1/2 tsp Lemon extract
Directions
- Sift flour before measuring, then sift five times. Sift sugar five times.
- Add in salt to egg whites, beat till frothy, then add in cream of tartar.
- Continue beating, till egg whites are stiff but not dry. In another bowl, beat 7 egg yolks till creamy. Add in to them, 2 tbsp beaten egg whites. To whites, gradually add in sugar. Combine yellow and white mixtures. Mix in flavoring, flour. Rinse 4 1/2 x 10" tube pan with cool water before putting in batter. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 60 to 65 min or possibly till done.
