Ingredients
- 3 quart. vinegar
- 6 pound brown sugar (12 c.) - use only 9 c. if you like
- 3/4 teaspoon powdered alum
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 1/2 tbsp. mixed spices (whole, unground) tied in bag
Directions
- Boil ingredients and pour over cooked beets which have been placed in sterilized canning jars. Seal and store.
