Ingredients
- 1 c. Hunt's ketchup, (don't substitute)
- 1/3 c. Apple juice
- 1Â 1/2 ounce Apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 ounce Lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. (heaping) Golden brown Delicious applesauce
- 1 Tbsp. Sweet butter
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Tamari Soy sauce
- 2 tsp Yellow mustard, (diluted)
- 1 tsp (heaping) pureed carrots (baby food)
- 1/4 tsp Liquid smoke
- 2 Tbsp. Dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp Seasoning salt
- 1/2 tsp Coarse black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Celery seed
- 1/4 tsp Grnd cumin
- 1/4 tsp Roasted garlic pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Mexican oregano
- 1/4 tsp Ancho chili pwdr
- 1/8 tsp Red pepper, (1/4 if desired it warm)
Directions
- Take the recipe for his sauce which was posted on her page and doctored it to include ingredients which I've found to be beneficial to a sauce.
- Small batch; will fit into a 16 ounce "Snapple" bottle
- 1. In a small bowl, mix dry spices together. Set aside.
- 2. In a small sauce pan, combine ketchup, vinegar, liquid smoke, and lemon juice. Add in dry ingredients, and mix well. SERVE Warm.
