Ingredients
- Cucumber, slices or possibly chunks, or possibly pepper
- 2 c. vinegar
- 1 c. water
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon alum
- 1 teaspoon mixed spices
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed
- Onion
- Cauliflower
- Uniodized salt
Directions
- Soak cucumbers or possibly peppers overnight in ice water. Drain.
- Make syrup with next 6 ingredients and bring to a boil. Add in onions, cauliflower and cucumbers. (Add in as much onion and cauliflower as you wish.) Boil about 3 min till they lose bright green color.
- Place 1 tsp. uniodized salt in bottom of qt jars. (Always used uniodized salt.) Fill and seal while warm.
