Ingredients
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 1 c. diced onion
- 1 c. cubed raw potatoes
- 1 c. sliced carrots
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 1 c. shredded cabbage
- 2 c. cooked tomatoes
- 1 sm. bay leaf, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1 basil leaf
- 1 1/2 quart. water
- 4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 c. rice
- 1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
- Cook grnd beef and onions in a large pan; brown meat slightly. Add in potatoes, carrots, celery, cabbage, tomatoes; add in water and bring to a boil.
- Sprinkle rice into the mix; add in remaining ingredients, cover and simmer 1 hour. Serve as a main dish with cheese.
