Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- ½ tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 tuna steaks (about 4 oz each) (I used yellow fin. It's a little less expensive than some other varieties)

%20or%20%E2%80%9CKaya%E2%80%9D.%20If%20you%20haven%E2%80%99t,%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20surprised.%20Both%20are%20fantastic%20Bob%20Marley%20offerings%20but%20I%20have%20yet%20to%20hear%20them%20played%20on%20popular%20radio%20stations.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20the%20same%20thing%20happens%20with%20tuna.%20Many%20people%20can%20claim%20to%20have%20had%20canned%20tuna%20but%20they%20may%20have%20never%20tried%20a%20tuna%20steak?%20I%20could%20include%20myself%20in%20that%20category%20until%20very%20recently.%20I%20had%20seen%20tuna%20steaks%20cooked%20on%20TV%20many%20times%20but%20had%20never%20tried%20preparing%20them%20for%20myself.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThankfully%20I%20took%20a%20chance%20and%20bought%20some%20at%20the%20grocery%20store.%20I%20figured%20they%20would%20go%20well%20with%20the%20marinade%20I%20had%20posted%20this%20past%20Tuesday%20(minus%20the%20green%20onions).%20Turns%20out%20they%20did%20and%20now%20I%20wonder%20why%20I%20had%20never%20tried%20them%20before%20because%20I%20have%20definitely%20been%20missing%20out!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETuna%20steaks%20are%20by%20far%20the%20easiest%20fish%20to%20cook.%20Two%20minutes%20each%20side%20on%20a%20very%20hot%20grill.%20That%E2%80%99s%20it!%20The%20outside%20is%20cooked%20but%20the%20inside%20remains%20raw.%20This%20is%20a%20sticky%20spot%20for%20some,%20me%20included.%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20into%20eating%20sushi%20so%20I%20had%20to%20get%20my%20head%20around%20eating%20raw%20fish.%20However%20once%20I%20did%20that%20I%20was%20good%20to%20go!%20%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20think%20I%20would%20enjoy%20the%20rawness%20of%20it%20but%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20notice%20it%20at%20all.%20I%20found%20it%20more%20similar%20to%20a%20very%20tender%20medium-rare%20steak%20and%20it%20tasted%20awesome!%20I%20was%20raving%20about%20it%20to%20anyone%20who%20would%20listen%20to%20me!%20Poor%20souls.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20experience%20was%20highlighted%20with%20a%20Bob%20Marley%20vibe.%20Not%20the%20popular%20stuff%20but%20tunes%20such%20as%20%22Soul%20Shake%20Down%20Party%22%20%22Small%20Axe%22%20and%20%20%22Do%20It%20Twice%22.%20The%20songs%20you%20never%20hear%20on%20the%20radio.%20They%20bring%20a%20whole%20new%20appreciation%20to%20Bob%20Marley%E2%80%99s%20music.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20if%20you%E2%80%99ve%20never%20heard%20of%20the%20Bob%20Marley%20songs%20I%E2%80%99ve%20referred%20to,%20I%20highly%20recommend%20you%20give%20them%20a%20listen.%20And%20if%20the%20canned%20variety%20of%20tuna%20is%20all%20you%E2%80%99ve%20experienced%20why%20not%20dive%20into%20the%20world%20of%20tuna%20steak.%20It%20might%20just%20lively%20up%20ya%20taste%20buds%20mon!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMarinated%20Tuna%20Steak%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstruments%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELyrics%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20blender%20combine,%20garlic,%20cilantro,%20jalapeno%20pepper,%20paprika,%20brown%20sugar,%20lime%20juice,%20salt,%20pepper%20and%20oil.%20Blend%20just%20until%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20tuna%20and%20marinade%20in%20a%20large%20resealable%20plastic%20bag%20and%20let%20marinate%20in%20the%20refrigerator%20for%20at%20least%2030%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20tuna%20steaks%20on%20a%20very%20hot%20grill%20and%20grill%20for%204%20minutes%20(2%20minutes%20per%20side).%20Only%20the%20outside%20should%20be%20cooked.%20The%20inside%20should%20remain%20raw.%20Serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVolume:%20Makes%204%20Servings%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrent%20Garell%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Kitchen%20Roadie%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebrent@cookapalooza.com%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
