Ma Welch's Easy Peach Cobbler

This is my absolute favorite dessert. Ever.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce.) can sliced peaches (2 c. diced and sweetened fresh peaches are better)
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 c. sugar
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1/4 c. sugar for topping

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, cook the fruit to boiling. Set aside.
  3. In a medium size mixing bowl, mix the flour, sugar, lowfat milk, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Put the melted butter in an oblong glass dish or 2 qt casserole dish. Pour the batter over this, then the warm fruit. Don't stir.
  5. Sprinkle the 1/4 c. sugar over the top. You can also sprinkle a little cinnamon on top, if you like.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 35 min.
  7. Serve hot with whipped cream.
