Ingredients
- 2 cups (252 g) AP flour
- 1 cup (130 g) white whole wheat flour
- 1â cups granulated sugar
- 1 T baking powder
- ¾ t salt
- 1½ cups full fat sour cream
- 3 large eggs
- 6 T unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 T vanilla
- 1½ cups possible add-ins: chocolate chips, chopped nuts, dried fruit

%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWell%20I%20was%20right%20and%20he%20was%20wrong%20(in%20this%20case%20anyway!)%20and%20this%20cake%20turned%20out%20really%20well.%20It%20is%20basically%20impossible%20to%20mess%20up%20and%20takes%20no%20work%20whatsoever.%20It%20is%20also%20fragrant%20with%20vanilla,%20moist%20from%20sour%20cream,%20and%20my%20idea%20of%20the%20perfect%20comfort%20food%20when%20I%20am%20feeling%20under%20the%20weather.%20Later,%20I%20also%20tried%20it%20with%20cream%20cheese%20for%20breakfast%20and%20that%20was%20fantastic%20as%20well.%20The%20original%20recipe%20is%20from%20Piece%20of%20Cake!:%20One-Bowl,%20No-Fuss,%20From-Scratch%20Cakes%20by%20Camilla%20Saulsbury;%20my%20main%20adaptions%20were%20to%20substitute%20some%20whole%20wheat%20flour%20and%20to%20cool%20the%20cake%20outside%20of%20the%20pan%20(I%20prefer%20cakes%20and%20muffins%20to%20not%20cool%20in%20their%20pans,%20keeps%20them%20less%20gummy).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20may%20have%20noticed%20I%20did%20not%20cut%20my%20sheet%20cake%20into%20traditional%20little%20squares.%20This%20is%20because%20my%20mom%20got%20me%20the%20Magisso%20Cake%20Server%20for%20Christmas%20and%20I%20was%20super%20excited%20to%20try%20it.%20Obviously%20it%20is%20meant%20for%20round%20cakes.%20%20It%20works%20perfectly%E2%80%93you%20use%20it%20to%20both%20slice%20and%20serve%20the%20cake.%20You%20can%20read%20more%20about%20the%20server%20at%20Magisso%E2%80%99s%20website;%20I%20spotted%20it%20while%20surfing%20the%20web%20early%20last%20fall%20and%20became%20instantly%20intrigued.%20And,%20Yay%20Mom!,%20she%20got%20it%20for%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELate%20Night%20One%20Bowl%20Vanilla%20Sour%20Cream%20Cake%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20F.%20Line%20a%209X13%20pan%20with%20parchment%20paper,%20with%20an%20overhang%20on%20the%202%20long%20sides.%20Lightly%20spray%20the%20parchment%20with%20baking%20spray.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20together%20the%20flour,%20salt%20and%20baking%20powder%20in%20a%20large%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20everything%20but%20the%20add-ins%20to%20the%20bowl.%20Using%20a%20handheld%20mixer,%20preferably%20electric,%20beat%20for%201%20minute%20on%20medium%20speed.%20Scrape%20the%20sides%20and%20bottom%20of%20the%20bowl%20and%20beat%20for%20an%20additional%20minute.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFold%20in%20any%20add-ins%20(if%20using%E2%80%93I%20did%20not).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpread%20the%20batter%20evenly%20into%20the%20prepared%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2030-35%20minutes,%20until%20a%20cake%20tester%20inserted%20into%20the%20center%20of%20the%20cake%20comes%20out%20clean%20or%20with%20only%20a%20few%20crumbs%20attached.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%20cool%20in%20pan%20for%2015%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWorking%20carefully%20and%20quickly%20to%20prevent%20breakage,%20lift%20the%20cake%20out%20by%20the%20parchment%20paper%20and%20place%20it%20on%20a%20cooling%20rack%20(still%20on%20top%20of%20the%20parchment%20paper).%20Let%20cool%20completely%20before%20slicing%20or%20frosting.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.2.1336%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecake,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emagisso%20cake%20server,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eone%20bowl,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Erecipe,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esheet%20cake,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esour%20cream,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Evanilla%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
