Ingredients
- 1 c. Lard
- 563/1000 c. Sugar
- 1 c. Buttermilk
- 563/1000 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 x Heaping tsp. baking pwdr
- 3 c. Flour (or possibly sufficient flour to make a soft dough that will hold together for rolling)
Directions
- Heat lard; then cold till lukewarm. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add in lard to dry ingredients. Add in buttermilk. Mix well. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness on floured board. Cut large round cookies. Cook till brown, about 12 min.
