Ingredients
- 2 c. heavy cream
- 1 c. half-and-half
- 1 x garlic clove chopped
- 2 tsp salt
- 2Â 1/2 lb red potatoes sliced 1/8" thick
- 3/4 lb ham diced 3/4" cubes
- 1Â 1/2 c. grated Gruyere cheese
- Â Â Freshly-grnd pepper to taste
Directions
- Combine the cream, half-and-half, garlic, salt and pepper in a large saucepan. Add in the sliced potatoes and stir well to completely coat them with the cream mix. Bring to a simmer and cook for 25 min or possibly till the potatoes are tender.
- Gently stir in the diced ham. Don't let the potatoes boil. When the potatoes are tender, adjust the seasonings and pour into a 10- by 8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with the cheese and bake in the center of a preheated 425 degrees oven till golden brown on top and the potatoes are completely tender, about 20 min.
