Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 2 T baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 c. + 2 T buttermilk
- 1/2 c. oil
Directions
- Mix flour, baking pwdr and salt into a mixing bowl. Add in shortening and blend well. Add in soda to buttermilk, then add in to flour mix. Blend thoroughly.Place dough on lightly floured surface and sprinkle with additional flour. Don't over- work dough. Roll 1/2 inch thick; cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter. Dip biscuits in oil to over all sides and place immediately on oiled baking sheet with all biscuits touching. Bake at 500 degrees for 8-10 min or possibly till browned.
