Ingredients
- 2 c. Flour
- 1/8 tsp Baking soda
- 2 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 c. Plus 2 Tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 tsp Shortening
- 1/2 c. Oil
Directions
- Sift flour, baking pwdr and salt into mixing bowl. Add in shortening and blend well. Add in soda to buttermilk, then blend into flour mix.
- Place dough on generously floured surface and sprinkle with additional flour. Don't overwork dough. Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter. Dip biscuits in oil to cover all sides and place immediately on oiled baking sheet with all biscuits touching. Bake at 500F 8-10 min or possibly till nicely browned.
