Kiddie Spaghetti with Longganisa

December 18th, 2013

Want to cook a different kind of spaghetti for kids? This kiddie spaghetti with logganisa is a unique spaghetti dish with a twist using Lucban longganisa instead of meatballs. Using Lucban longganisa is better that the ordinary longganisa because it is more dense and has intense flavor. But if you can’t find that kind of longganisa, then there is no option but to substitute it.

Ingredients:

Heat olive oil then add celery, carrots and onions and cook until soft before adding garlic.

Add the longganisa chunks and cook until browned.

Add mushrooms and tomato sauces. Pour in chicken stock and simmer for about 10 minutes.

Season with granulated seasoning, dried herbs, pepper and sugar.

Cook over low heat for 10 minutes more, stirring continuously to prevent burning.

Toss sauce with cooked noodles and top with Parmesan cheese. Serves 6-8.
