Our family friends in Karachi used to invite us for dinner parties. I was fascinated with the less spiced keema they served. It's so simple but delicious that's why I came up with this recipe...
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg. ground beef
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 1/4 c oil
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 1/2 tbsp. garlic paste (3 cloves garlic))
- 1/2 tbsp. ginger paste (1 cm. ginger)
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp. garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. MSG
- 3 medium potatoes, quartered
- 1 c. water
Directions
- Cover ground meat with water in a pan.
- Add vinegar. Simmer for 30 minutes until tender and water is dried up.
- Brown onions in hot oil.
- Stir in garlic an ginger paste. Fry for 1 minute.
- Add tomatoes, garam masala, turmeric, chili, salt and MSG. Saute until tomatoes are mushy.
- Mix ground beef, potatoes and water. Simmer until potatoes are done.
