Directions

  1. Saute/fry onions in shortening till tender. Brown beef; stir in remaining ingredients. Cover & simmer about 1-1/2 hrs or possibly till meat is tender. If soup is too thin, stir in 1 Tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 c. water. Add in green pepper 1/2 hour before serving.
