Ingredients

  • 3 x onions - (to 4) finely minced
  • 3 x fresh jalapeno peppers - (to 4) minced (or possibly 1 rounded tbspn crushed dry warm red pepper flakes)
  • 8 lrg garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 c. strong black coffee
  • 1 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c. tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 c. dark brown sugar - (firmly packed)
  • 1/4 c. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c. Texas-style chilli pwdr
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp finely-grnd black pepper

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to very low and simmer for 30 min, stirring occasionally.
  2. Let mix cold in the pan for 30 min at room temperature, then puree in 2 batches in a blender of food processor.
  3. Serve hot or possibly at room temperature, as an accompaniment to barbecued beef or possibly sausage.
