  • 1 (0.75 ounce) package (2 1/4 tsp) dried yeast
  • 4 tbsp sugar, divided
  • 3 large eggs
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup currants (or raisins)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Glaze:
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
