Ingredients
- 1Â 1/2 lb grnd beef
- 1 lrg onion minced
- 1 x garlic clove chopped
- 1 can warm-style tomato juice - (6 ounce)
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. minced jalapeno peppers
- 1 Tbsp. dijon mustard
- 2 tsp chili pwdr
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 x hamburger buns
- Â Â Shredded cheese
Directions
- In a large skillet cook grnd beef, onion, and garlic till meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off fat.
- Meanwhile, in a crock, combine tomato juice, catsup, water, brown sugar, jalapeno peppers, mustard, chili pwdr and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in meat mix. Cover, cook on LOW heat setting for 10 to 12 hrs or possibly HIGH heat setting for 3 to 5 hrs.
- Toast buns; spoon meat mix over buns and sprinkle with cheese.
- This recipe yields 8 servings.
