Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. Stearic acid (pwdr)
  • 12 ounce Glycerin
  • 1/2 ounce Strong ammonia (28% or possibly stronger) (1 Tbsp.)
  • 1/2 tsp Borax pwdr (99% pure)
  • 1/2 tsp Paraffin wax, grated
  • 16 ounce Hot water, (2 c.) Perfume and color to suit**

Directions

  1. I use 2 tsp. of perfumed body lotion and 1 to 2 drops of red food color. Put stearic acid, glycerin and wax in a "crock" on low heat, till all is well melted. Then add in the 1/2 oz of ammonia and stir fast with a wooden spoon (this will look a little milky). Have Borax dissolved in hot water; add in, stir and immediately start beating (on low speed). Take off stove and beat till it looks like whipped cream. When cold, add in perfume and color.
  2. Note: Use no metal (plastic measures or possibly glass are fine).
