Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. round steak, trimmed, cubed & pre browned
  • 4 med. potatoes, peeled & diced
  • 4 lg. carrots, peeled & sliced
  • 6 pcs celery, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 2 sm. onions, minced
  • 2 Packages Lawry stew seasoning mix
  • 1 (11 ounce.) can whole kernel corn, liquid removed
  • 1 to 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 to 2 teaspoon pepper
  • Water to cover

Directions

  1. Prepare 20 to 25 charcoal briquets. Place 10 to 15 briquets under 5 qt Dutch oven. Place potatoes, carrots, celery, pepper and onion in Dutch oven. Add in sufficient water to cover. Place lid on top, place 8 to 10 briquets on lid. Bring to a boil, boil 15 min. Carefully remove lid. Add in meat, stew mix, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 15 to 30 min more, adding more briquets as necessary. When vegetables are tender, add in corn. Serves 6 to 8. Can also be made on the stove.
