Ingredients

  • 4 1/4 - 4 3/4 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening, butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 tbsp. dry chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry basil, oregano or possibly Italian seasoning, crushed to lowfat milk mix

Directions

  1. Combine 2 c. of flour and the yeast. Heat lowfat milk, sugar, herbs, shortening, salt just till hot (120-130 degrees) and shortening almost melts. Add in to flour mix along with Large eggs. Beat with electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on high 3 min. Using a spoon stir in as much flour as you can. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Knead in sufficient remaining flour to make a moderately ???? dough. Shape dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl, cover and let rise till double (1 hour). Punch, divide in half, rest for 10 min. Shape into rolls, cover. Rise for 30 min. Bake in 375 degree oven for 12 to 15 min.
