Directions

  1. Combine and heat the butter and chocolate in the top portion of a double boiler over - NOT IN- boiling water, stirring to blend well. Add in the boiling water. Blend thoroughly. Add in the sugar and corn syrup. Place over direct heat. Cover. Let the sauce boil readily, but not too furiously, for 3 min. Don't STIR!
  2. For a conventional Warm Fudge Sauce (that does NOT harden on Ice Cream), uncover, reduce the heat and simmer 2 more min, all without stirring the sauce.
  3. For a Fudge Sauce that WILL harden on Ice Cream, continue boiling, uncovered 3 more min, without stirring the sauce. Add in the vanilla just before serving.
  4. Yields 1 C.
  5. NOTE:This recipe requires attention to detail, but works quite nicely.
