Ingredients
- 1 (9") pie shell, partially cooked
- 1 pound hamburger meat
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3 Large eggs
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Prepare pastry shell. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Brown hamburger meat and onion in skillet; drain. Set aside a small amount of meat (1/4 c.). Place remaining meat mix in pastry shell. Sprinkle cheese over meat. Beat Large eggs, cream and seasonings and pour over meat and cheese. Bake 15 min. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake 30 min longer. Sprinkle the 1/4 c. meat on top and bake 5 min longer. Let quiche stand for 10 min before serving. For breakfast, substitute grnd sausage for hamburger meat.
