Ingredients

  • 1 leftover ham bone
  • 1 white or yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (15 oz. can) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz. can) corn, drained
  • 1 large potato, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
