Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef flank steak
- 2 Tbsp. reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 2 x garlic cloves chopped
- 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 1 c. nonfat lowfat sour cream
- 1 Tbsp. prepared horseradish
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 1/4 c. finely-minced fresh parsley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 x sourdough rolls split
- 6 x romaine lettuce leaves
Directions
- Place flank steak in large resealable plastic food storage bag. Add in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic and pepper. Close bag securely; turn to coat. Marinate in refrigerator at least 1 hour.
- Prepare grill or possibly preheat broiler. Drain steak; throw away marinade. Grill or possibly broil over medium-high heat 5 min. Turn beef; grill 6 min for medium-rare or possibly till desired doneness. Cover with foil; let stand 15 min. Thinly slice steak across grain.
- Combine lowfat sour cream, horseradish, mustard, parsley and salt in small bowl till well blended. Spread rolls with horseradish sauce; layer with sliced steak and lettuce. Garnish with small pickles, if you like.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
- Comments: Prepared horseradish is combined with nonfat lowfat sour cream to lighten up a classic sauce. Purchase horseradish in small quantities, as it begins to turn bitter and lose its hotness within four weeks.
