  • 1 pound green split peas
  • 3 quart. water
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 med. onion, minced
  • 1 raw carrot, grated
  • 1 raw potato, diced
  • 1/4 pound ham or possibly bacon, minced and lightly fried

Directions

  1. Rinse and sort peas. Place in kettle with water and salt. Bring to boil. Let stand overnight or possibly 3-4 hrs. Add in water from time to time as necessary. Makes 8 servings and can be frzn for future use.
