Ingredients
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 c. flour, sifted, all purpose
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
- Place shortening in bowl. Pour in boiling water and add in salt. Stir molasses and sugar. Add in unbeaten egg and beat well. Sift flour, measure and sift it together with baking pwdr, soda, ginger and cinnamon. Stir into mix. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 min.
