Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c. cake flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 sq. chocolate or possibly 1/2 c. cocoa pwdr
- 3/4 c. sour lowfat milk
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly shortening
- 2 large eggs, unbeaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/3 c. boiling water
Directions
- Cream shortening or possibly butter and sugar; add in large eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then add in ingredients as called for and, after adding them all without stirring, beat vigorously till smooth. Put into 2 greased and lightly floured 8 inch layer pans. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees 30 to 35 min or possibly till done. Ice with favorite frosting and serve.
