Ingredients
- 4 large eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. scalded lowfat milk
- Nutmeg, optional
- 9" deep dish pie crust shell
Directions
- Put together first 4 ingredients, mixing well. Pour 1/4 cup scalded lowfat milk into egg mix. Stir well, then slowly add in rest of lowfat milk, stirring constantly. Pour mix into 9 inch deep pie crust shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg, if you like.Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 min. Don't overbake, as this makes the custard watery. Hint: Lemon can be substituted for vanilla for a slightly different flavor.
