Gorgonzola And Caramelized Onion Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. Margarine or possibly butter
  • 2 med Onions, sliced and separated into rings
  • 1 Tbsp. Packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Balsamic or possibly red wine vinegar
  • 8 slc baguette, 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 Tbsp. Crumbled Gorgonzola cheese

Directions

  1. Heat margarine in 10 inch skillet over medium heat. Cook onions, brown sugar and vinegar in margarine about 25 min, stirring frequently, till onions are golden.
  2. Set oven control to broil. Place baguette slices on ungreased cookie sheet. Broil with tops 2 to 3 inches from heat 1 to 2 min or possibly till lightly toasted.
  3. Spoon caramelized onions proportionately onto each baguette slice. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil about 1 minute or possibly till cheese is melted.
  4. Yield: 8 servings
