Ingredients

  • 2 c. Cake flour, sifted
  • 2 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 c. Butter
  • 1 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 2 x Large eggs, unbeaten
  • 3 ounce Unsweetnd choc
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Directions

  1. Sift flour once, measure, add in baking pwdr, soda and salt and sift together three times. Cream butter thoroughly, add in sugar gradually, and cream together till light and fluffy. Add in Large eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each. Add in melted chocolate and blend. Add in flour alternately with lowfat milk, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition till smooth. Add in vanilla. Bake in two greased 9-inch layer pans in moderate oven, 350 deg. F., 30 min.
  2. Spread Golden brown Cream Filling (see recipe) between layers and Chocolate Fluff Frosting (see recipe) over cake. For an all-chocolate cake spread Hungarian Chocolate Frosting (see recipe) between layers and over cake.
