Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening, and both of the sugars until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the chocolate
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time
  4. Beat well after each addition
  5. Beat in the water and vanilla
  6. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt
  7. Gradually add to the creamed mixture
  8. Stir in the toffee bits and walnuts
  9. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets
  10. Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown
  11. Remove to wire racks to cool

    While this is a large batch of cookies, it can be halved easily.
    The cookies are lightly crisp on the outside and chewy delicious on the inside.
    Very good.
