German Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • (I wanted to share some of the slices with our neighbors, but somehow the pie disappeared before I had the chance.)
  • German Chocolate Pecan Pie
  • For the crust:
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • For the filling:
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 1/2 cups pecan halves, chopped
  • 3/4 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
