Made with homemade pumpkin puree, this is a one loaf recipe that easily doubles.

Ingredients
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter or oil or 1/4 cup butter or oil and 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1 cup fresh pumkpin puree, or canned unsweetened
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin spice or 1/2 tsp. each cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg
- pinch cloves
- optional: pecans or walnuts
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 F.
- Combine the wet ingredients.
- Add dry ones, mix well.
- Grease a 9x5 bread pan.
- Pour batter into the pan, bake 50 minutes, check for doneness with a toothpick.
- Remove when done and put on a cooling rack.
- Serve warm with butter or apple butter.
