Cranberry sauce is a must for every roasted turkey dinner, and I’m not talking about the stuff in the can. I’m talking about homemade with real natural ingredients.

Not only does homemade sauce taste better than its canned counterpart, it’s healthier too. Canned cranberry sauce is sweetened with both high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup (is all of that refined sweetness necessary?) Homemade cranberry sauce it’s so unbelievably easy to make and once you have a taste, you will never go back to the canned sauce.

There are only five simple ingredients, cranberries, fresh orange juice, honey and water.

Place them in a pan and wait for the berries to begin popping.

As the cranberries are popping, the liquid will thicken. . .

Continue to stir the mixture until just about all of the cranberries have popped. . .

Cranberry sauce is not only for turkey, try it on salads, sandwiches, on top of soft cheese and crackers. What is your favorite way to eat cranberry sauce?

Place all of the ingredients into a sauce pan over medium heat.

Cook stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes until most of the berries have popped and liquid is thick.
