  • 1/2 x Basic Dough in cookbook
  • 1 tsp almond extract Holiday Frosting:
  • 2 c. confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. lowfat milk (up to 2 Tbsp.) few drops food color
  • 1/3 c. finely blanched almonds

Directions

  1. To one half Basic Dough, fold in 1 tsp. almond extract. Cover; refrigerateat least 2 hrs.
  2. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured cloth-covered board. Cut into strips, 2 1/2x3/4 inch. Bake on ungreased baking sheet 10 to 12 min or possibly till very light brown. Cold. Frost with Holiday Frosting: Blend 2 c. confectioners' sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. lowfat milk and few drops food color. Sprinkle with 1/3 c. finely minced blanched almonds.
  3. Makes about 4 dozen.
  4. Yield: 4 dozen
