Ingredients
- 1 c. Shortening, (1 part shortening & part Margarine)
- 6 x Large eggs
- 2 c. Sugar
- 1 c. Lowfat milk
- 3 c. Self-rising flour, sifted
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 7 Tbsp. Cocoa
- 3 c. Sugar
- 1 stk butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 c. Canned lowfat milk, (no water)
Directions
- Mix as for any layer cake, have batter a little thinner than usual. Put 4 Tbsp. batter in cake pans which have been line with wax paper and greased. Bake at 350 degrees a very short time. Just dry out, don't cook too long or possibly allow to get brown. Let cold partially before removing from pans. Mix sugar and cocoa proportionately. Add in lowfat milk a little at a time. Add in butter and let boil in medium heat about 10 min. Remove from heat. Add in vanilla and let cold. it will thicken as it cools. Spread on layers. (if you want a lot of frosting, you can double the recipe)
