Eggless Strawberry Ice cream (No Eggs, Cream, Condensed Milk)

You read that right. I made this real low calorie ice cream with just 2% milk. A recent spring cleaning of the big shoe box in which I tuck away hastily written recipe notes led me to this recipe. I’m so glad I took the time to do that. This was written down when a person belonging to a hotel industry was being interviewed in the T.V. This process is followed by many Restaurants and mass Ice cream manufacturers, so it is completely safe. I also did a double check by searching the Internet just to ensure.

%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJune%205,%202012%20By%20Radhika%2028%20Comments%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20read%20that%20right.%20I%20made%20this%20real%20low%20calorie%20ice%20cream%20with%20just%202%25%20milk.%20A%20recent%20spring%20cleaning%20of%20the%20big%20shoe%20box%20in%20which%20I%20tuck%20away%20hastily%20written%20recipe%20notes%20led%20me%20to%20this%20recipe.%20I%E2%80%99m%20so%20glad%20I%20took%20the%20time%20to%20do%20that.%20%20This%20was%20written%20down%20when%20a%20person%20belonging%20to%20a%20hotel%20industry%20was%20being%20interviewed%20in%20the%20T.V.%20This%20process%20is%20followed%20by%20many%20Restaurants%20%20and%20mass%20Ice%20cream%20manufacturers,%20so%20it%20is%20completely%20safe.%20I%20also%20did%20a%20double%20check%20by%20searching%20the%20Internet%20just%20to%20ensure.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20only%20hindrance%20to%20me%20was%20in%20getting%20hold%20of%20the%20ingredients%20mentioned.%20It%20was%20indeed%20a%20surprise%20when%20I%20came%20across%20them%20in%20the%20supermarket.%20These%20boxes%20were%20sitting%20next%20to%20the%20corn%20flour%20and%20baking%20powder%20cartons.%20I%20could%20not%20believe%20my%20eyes.%20All%20the%20while%20I%20thought%20I%20had%20no%20scope%20of%20ever%20getting%20them%20no%20matter%20how%20much%20ever%20I%20would%20scour%20the%20city.%20After%20coming%20home%20I%20checked%20it%20on%20both%20myself%20and%20Hubby%20by%20making%20a%20plain%20vanilla%20ice%20cream.%20It%20tasted%20way%20too%20good%20and%20I%20was%20amazed%20at%20how%20well%20the%20ice%20cream%20set.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20that%20the%20kids%20and%20their%20cousins%20are%20home,%20I%20made%20a%20strawberry%20ice%20cream%20made%20from%20the%20crush%20that%20I%20recently%20made%20and%20I%20need%20not%20have%20to%20tell%20you%20that%20the%20kids%20loved%20it%20very%20much.%20Hmmm%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20know%20which%20one%20was%20difficult,%20trying%20to%20click%20away%20when%20the%20hot%20breeze%20was%20swiftly%20melting%20away%20the%20ice%20cream%20or%20the%20anxious%20kids%20waiting%20around%20around%20the%20set%20up%20for%20their%20share%20without%20giving%20enough%20light%20to%20click%E2%80%A6.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEggless%20Strawberry%20Ice%20cream%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%E2%80%99ll%20need:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20milk%20in%20a%20vessel.%20In%20a%20small%20bowl%20place%20corn%20flour,%20G.M.S%20and%20C.M.C.%20Pour%20little%20milk%20(3%20%E2%80%93%204%20tbsp)%20to%20this%20mixture%20and%20mix%20well%20with%20a%20spoon%20without%20any%20lumps.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20this%20solution%20to%20the%20milk%20and%20stir%20well.%20Place%20the%20milk%20vessel%20on%20the%20stove,%20add%20sugar%20and%20let%20it%20come%20to%20a%20boil.%20Keep%20stirring%20to%20avoid%20the%20mixture%20from%20sticking%20to%20the%20bottom.%20You%20can%20see%20a%20little%20thickening%20of%20the%20milk%20and%20it%20will%20start%20to%20boil%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdjust%20the%20flame%20to%20medium%20and%20cook%20further%20for%205%20more%20minutes%20stirring.%20At%20this%20stage%20when%20you%20dip%20a%20spoon%20in%20the%20milk,%20the%20mixture%20will%20lightly%20coat%20the%20spoon.%20Take%20off%20from%20fire%20and%20let%20the%20mixture%20cool%20down%20completely.%20Transfer%20to%20any%20freezer%20proof%20shallow%20container%20and%20place%20it%20in%20the%20freezer%20to%20set%20for%205-6%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20the%20set%20ice%20cream%20out%20after%206%20hours%20and%20add%20vanilla%20essence,%20strawberry%20crush%20and%20blend%20well%20using%20a%20hand%20held%20mixer%20or%20in%20a%20blender.%20Once%20again%20pour%20the%20blended%20mixture%20into%20the%20same%20container%20and%20place%20it%20in%20the%20freezer%20to%20set.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20should%20another%203-4%20hours%20to%20set.%20Once%20set,%20scoop%20into%20cups%20or%20cones%20and%20serve%20garnished%20with%20either%20fresh%20sliced%20strawberries%20on%20some%20crush%20drizzled%20over.%20Lick%20Away%E2%80%A6%E2%80%A6%E2%80%A6%E2%80%A6..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENotes:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/8%20tsp%20is%20Half%20of%201/4%20tsp.%20In%20simple%20words%20it%20literally%20means%20a%20pinch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstead%20of%20crush%20you%20can%20use%20fresh%20fruits%20while%20blending.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstead%20of%20sugar%20you%20can%20use%20condensed%20milk%20to%20get%20a%20creamy%20texture%20or%20sugar%20substitute%20for%20a%20low%20calorie%20version.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdjust%20the%20sugar%20according%20to%20your%20taste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20have%20strawberry%20essence%20please%20use%20that%20instead%20of%20vanilla%20essence.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20use%20whole%20milk%20in%20place%20of%202%25%20milk%20and%20use%201/2%20cup%20of%20cream%20while%20beating%20to%20get%20a%20much%20thicker%20and%20dense%20ice%20cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20off%20to%20Let%E2%80%99s%20Cook%20~%20Kids%20Special,%20CC:%20Splash%20into%20Summer,%20Showcase:Fun%20N%20Sun%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
