Ingredients

  • All purpose flour-1 cup
  • Cocoa powder-5 table spoons
  • Caster Sugar- 1 cup
  • I used vegetable oil- 1/2 cup
  • Baking soda-1 teaspoon
  • baking powder-1/2 teaspoon
  • Yogurt-1/4 cup
  • Milk-1/4 cup (room temperature)
  • Vanilla extract- 1 teaspoon
  • Almond flakes for decoration
  • Icing sugar

Directions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 F. The procedure is actually very simple. You start with mixing all the dry ingredients together as in, the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and caster sugar. Mix well and now add the other ingredients, oil, milk , yogurt and vanilla essence, use an electric beater, that way the mixing is much better that way. Line a spring form cake pan with a parchment paper, pour the batter in to the pan, tap it a few times so that it spreads evenly. Sprinkle almond flakes on the top and bake for 30 mins and check with a toothpick in between and when it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Let it cook on a wire rack , once it is cool sprinkle icing sugar. cake is ready.. That too eggless and from now on cake on a Tuesday is a reality. :D
