  1. Approximately 4 hrs before serving, cut up vegetables and brown hamburger in a kettle. Drain off fat. Add in 1/2 onions to meat with 3 qts of water. Cover and simmer about 2 hrs. Add in remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 hrs. Serve with garlic bread and large green salad.
