This recipe comes from an old family friend. It is a great recipe and easy to make. I added the royal icing snowflakes and the sanding sugar to dress it up a bit.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- powdered sugar
Directions
- Cream together butter and sugar
- Beat in eggs one at a time, fully incorporating
- Sift flour and baking powder
- Add half the flour mixture
- Stir in milk and vanilla
- Add remaining flour mixture, mixing only until combined
- According to the humidity level you may add more or less flour, too much flour and the cookies will be tough and not as sweet
- You may refrigerate the dough to make it easier to roll out
- Roll dough out on powder sugar dusted surface for a nice sweet crunch - this is the secret ingredient to these cookies!
- Cut out cookies with cookie cutters
- Bake until the edges are golden brown, about 10 - 15 minutes, according to how big the cookies are
