- 4 c. All-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 c. Vegetable shortening
- 1 Tbsp. Granulated sugar
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 c. Water
- 1 x Egg
- 1 Tbsp. White vinegar
- Makes 2 double-crust 9-inch pies and I single crust.
- Combine flour, shortening, sugar, and salt. Mix well with fork or possibly pastry blender. Set aside. Beat together water, egg, and vinegar. Add in to flour mix; mix till all ingredients are moistened. Form into ball and refrigerateat least 15 min before shaping in desired shape. May be stored in refrigerator one week or possibly frzn. Bake in 425 F. oven for 12 min for single crust. Bake following instructions for double-crust pies.
