%20but%20I%20couldn't%20decide%20if%20I%20should%20keep%20it%20simple%20or%20add%20in%20blueberries.%20Blueberries%20are%20Mason's%20favorite%20fruit%20and%20I%20thought%20it%20would%20be%20fun%20to%20change%20it%20up%20a%20little.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20as%20life%20typically%20goes%20these%20days,%20I%20ran%20out%20of%20time%20and%20ended%20up%20having%20to%20settle%20for%20just%20a%20simple%20Buttercream%20Frosting.%20Which%20isn't%20really%20%22settling%22%20because%20even%20at%20its%20simplest%20form,%20it's%20HEAVEN.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20I%20whipped%20up%20the%20Buttercream,%20I%20added%20a%20thick%20layer%20of%20frosting%20in%20between%20the%20two%20rounds%20of%20yellow%20cake.%20(I%20used%20the%20King%20Arthur%20Flour%20Gluten%20Free%20Yellow%20Cake%20Mix%20-%20SO%20GOOD!!!)%20And%20then%20frosted%20the%20top%20and%20sides.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon't%20forget%20the%20sprinkles!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20loved%20the%20way%20his%20cake%20turned%20out%20-%20which%20is%20a%20good%20thing,%20seeing%20as%20how%20I%20ate%20most%20of%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20made%20a%20rookie%20mistake%20and%20fed%20Mason%20lunch%20just%20before%20his%20cake,%20so%20his%20belly%20was%20super%20full.%20He%20took%20a%20few%20bites%20from%20us%20but%20that%20was%20it.%20No%20smashing,%20which%20was%20a%20little%20disappointing%20but%20whatever%20-%20it's%20his%20birthday!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlus%20I%20didn't%20mind%20helping%20out%20with%20that%20cake.%20It%20was%20so%20good!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20highly%20recommend%20making%20your%20own%20Buttercream%20the%20next%20time%20you%20need%20frosting.%20It's%20so%20EASY%20to%20make%20and%20tastes%20ten%20times%20better%20than%20pre-made.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEASY%20Homemade%20Buttercream%20Frosting%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESifting%20your%20powder%20sugar%20is%20very%20important!%20Without%20the%20sifting%20your%20frosting%20could%20be%20clumpy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-Start%20by%20beating%20the%20butter%20in%20a%20mixer%20with%20the%20paddle%20attachment%20on%20medium%20speed%20until%20the%20butter%20has%20broken%20down%20and%20begins%20to%20look%20whipped.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-Stop%20the%20mixer%20and%20add%20in%20your%20sifted%20powdered%20sugar.%20Cover%20your%20mixer%20and%20bowl%20with%20a%20towel%20and%20turn%20your%20mixer%20on%20the%20lowest%20speed%20for%2030%20seconds%20to%20a%20minute.%20(This%20keeps%20the%20powdered%20sugar%20from%20poofing%20up%20in%20your%20face%20and%20all%20over%20your%20counter!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-Increase%20the%20speed%20to%20medium%20and%20add%20the%20vanilla,%20salt,%20and%202%20tbsp.%20of%20the%20milk.%20Beat%20for%203%20minutes%20on%20medium.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%E2%80%99re%20done!%20Need%20thicker%20icing?%20Add%20more%20powdered%20sugar%20a%20tablespoon%20at%20a%20time.%20Need%20a%20thinner%20icing?%20Add%20more%20milk%20a%20tablespoon%20at%20a%20time.%20You%20could%20also%20add%20in%20food%20coloring%20at%20this%20point%20if%20you%20wanted%20a%20more%20festive%20frosting!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
